Microsoft Leaks Two Point Hospital Sequel Called Two Point Campus

Microsoft has inadvertently leaked details on the sequel to Sega’s popular Two Point Hospital.

According to a now-deleted store listing, the new game – named Two Point Campus – will see players building and managing a university campus. The listing read, “Get to know your students, explore their personalities and fulfill their wants and needs. Craft buildings, choose courses, hire the best staff and build an academic institution to stand the test of time.”

Two Point Campus will allow players to manage the great outdoors for the first time in the franchise. Buildings, trees, pathways, and decorative items will be available to help make the shiny students feel at home. The academic courses on offer will take a step away from the norm though, it seems.

“Rather than typical academic fare, students in Two Point County enjoy a range of wild and wonderful courses: from Knight School, to the salivatory Gastronomy, where your students will build mouth-watering concoctions like giant pizzas and enormous pies.”

Now we just want a big pie.

No release date has been confirmed, but Two Point Campus looks likely to drop a little later this year.

Borderlands Movie Photo Reveals First Look at Cate Blanchett’s Lilith

New Borderlands Movie Photo Reveals First Look at Cate Blanchett's Lilith

As production continues on Eli Roth’s Borderlands, Golden Globe winner Jamie Lee Curtis took to Twitter to share a brand new behind-the-scenes image from the Hungary set of Lionsgate’s upcoming live-action film adaptation of Gearbox Software’s popular video game series.

The new Borderlands photo provides us our first glimpse at Oscar winner Cate Blanchett as Lilith, teasing the lead character’s video game accurate costume. Curtis, who is playing the role of Tannis in the film, also went on to describe Blanchett’s Lilith as their team’s legendary heroine, who is a vault hunting vixen with a bad attitude.

The Borderlands movie will follow a group of unlikely heroes called Vault Hunters led by Lilith and Roland, who have been recruited for a retrieval mission. Lilith, an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the universe’s most powerful S.O.B., Atlas. Lilith forms an alliance with an unexpected team – Roland, a former elite mercenary, now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina, a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg, Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis, the scientist with a tenuous grip on sanity; and Claptrap, a persistent wiseass robot. These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other.

Based on one of the world’s most successful video game franchises from developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2K Games, it has been confirmed that the film will exist in a different universe than the game, which is why the film’s story will stray away from the first game.

The film features a star-studded cast including Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Edgar Ramirez as Atlas, Kevin Hart as Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, Jack Black as Claptrap, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as Krieg, Olivier Richters as Krom, and Haley Bennett in an unknown new role for the series. Janina Gavankar has also been cast for the key role of Commander Knoxx, a newly created character for the film.

It will also star Gina Gershon as Moxxi, Cheyenne Jackson as Jakobs, Charles Babalola as Hammerlock, Benjamin Byron Davis as Marcus, Steven Boyer as Scooter, Ryann Redmond as Ellie, and Bobby Lee as Larry.

Borderlands is being directed by Eli Roth from a screenplay written by Craig Mazin, who is also currently working on HBO’s series adaptation of another popular video game The Last of Us. Producers are Arad Productions’ Avi Arad and Ari Arad, along with Picturestart’s Erik Feig. It will be executive produced by Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford and CEO of Take-Two Interactive Strauss Zelnick. Lionsgate’s James Myers and Aaron Edmonds are overseeing the project along with Arad’s Emmy Yu and Picturestart’s Lucy Kitada and Royce Reeves-Darby.

Craig Gillespie Talks Potential Sequel Plans for Cruella

Craig Gillespie Talks Potential Sequel Plans For Cruella

Following its theatrical release and Disney+ debut last Friday, Disney’s newest live-action feature Cruella has been receiving a good amount of positive responses from critics and audiences alike, who are praising the film’s direction, costume design, and soundtrack as well as Emma Stone and Emma Thompson’s performances. The film currently sits at a gross of over 440 million worldwide, which helped to reignite the box office since the pandemic started last year. If Cruella continues gaining incredible numbers, a potential sequel might not be too far ahead in its future.

In a recent interview with Collider, when asked if he was willing to direct a possible Cruella sequel, director Craig Gillespie confirmed that he’s very open to returning as long as it’s with the same cast and creative team.

“If it was with this gang. It was such a joy to work with everybody, and Tony writing it, and Disney was so supportive. They really fostered a feeling of safety where we could just really go for it without the repercussions. We all were pushing it all the time and thinking, “I don’t know if Disney’s gonna be okay with this,” but they would always call and be okay,” Gillespie said.

The Oscar-nominated filmmaker also believes that viewers had just started getting to know the titular character and that there are additional stories to tell about her, especially with how well will she handle the new power that she inherited.

“I feel like we’ve only just met her,” Gillespie teased of sequel plans for Cruella. “I’d love to now see the full-blown Cruella, fully loaded. She’s managed to get the support system around her and she can really expand on her brand. I’d love to see where that takes her and how you could almost destroy her from inside out, if she’s not careful with all that power.

In addition, Stone and Thompson also expressed how they love the idea of returning for a sequel with original Cruella actress Glenn Close. Speaking with Rotten Tomatoes, when it was suggested that the potential sequel for Cruella could be made in the similar storytelling style as The Godfather Part II, the Oscar-winning actresses quickly shared their enthusiasm for the idea, with Thompson even entertaining the idea of writing it.

Disney’s Cruella is directed by I, Tonya filmmaker Craig Gillespie from a screenplay written by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara, based on a story by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel & Steve Zissis. It is executive produced by original Cruella actress Glenn Close with Emma Stone, Michelle Wright, Jared LeBoff, Andrew Gunn, Marc Platt, and Kristin Burr set as producers. Two-time Oscar-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan (Mad Max: Fury Road) creates the dazzling and imaginative costumes, which take on a life of their own.

The film is now available for viewing in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access.

Nintendo Wins $2.1 Million Case Against ROM Site Owner

Nintendo has triumphed to the tune of $2.1 million in a case against the owner of the now-defunct ROM site ROMUniverse.

TorrentFreak reports that a California federal court ruled that site operator Matthew Storman, a Los Angeles resident, uploaded and distributed pirated Nintendo games and made a profit from the mass copyright infringement by charging for subscriptions.

Storman represented himself in court and claimed that the site wasn’t breaking any laws and requested that the court dismiss the case. Unfortunately for Storman, the court disagreed with his claim that he was a “service provider” who didn’t have any involvement in uploading and distributing copyrighted material. They also disagreed that uploading copyrighted material was protected by the First Sale Doctrine, or that Storman was protected by DMCA’s safe harbor.

Nintendo moved for a summary judgment and was claiming $15 million in damages. US District Court Judge Consuelo Marshall found that $35,000 in statutory damages for each of the 49 copyrighted works was plenty, totaling $1.7 million. The court rejected Nintendo’s claim for $400,000 in damages for each of the 29 trademarks used, too, instead awarding $400,000 in total.

EA Delists Several Need for Speed Titles, Focusing on Future of Series

need for speed

Electronic Arts has taken the bold step of removing several of the older titles in the Need for Speed franchise from digital storefronts.

As of Monday, Need for Speed: Carbon, Need for Speed: Shift, Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed, Need for Speed Undercover, and the notorious Need for Speed: The Run are no longer available for purchase digitally on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC.

EA was quick to point out that anybody who already owns any of the affected titles will continue to be able to play them but also confirmed that all online services for the games will be taken offline on August 31 this year.

In a post on Reddit, EA says that the decision was made as the development teams are “shifting gears to focus on the future of Need for Speed and explained the choice of games:

Decisions to retire games are never made easy, but we are now shifting gears to focus on the future of Need for Speed. The development teams and operational staff have put a lot of time and passion into the development, creation, release and upkeep of the game over the years, and we love to see you play. But the number of players has come to a point where it’s no longer feasible to continue the work behind the scenes required to keep Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed and Need for Speed The Run up and running. We hope you have gotten many victories, satisfying drifts, moments of friendly rivalry, and hours of joy over the last few years out of these games.

As long as that future involves something that looks and plays a bit like Burnout, then the series will once again have a bright future.

Need for Speed Most Wanted, Need for Speed Rivals, Need for Speed (2015), Need for Speed Payback, Need for Speed: Heat, and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will continue receiving support for the time being, for better or worse.
