The Black Mirror: Bandersnatch Trailer is Here!

The Black Mirror: Bandersnatch Trailer is Here!

The Black Mirror: Bandersnatch trailer is here!

Netflix has released the official trailer for Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, an all-new Black Mirror movie that is debuting on the streaming service this Friday, December 28! Check out the Bandersnatch trailer below!

RELATED: Black Mirror Renewed for Season 5 by Netflix

In 1984, a young programmer begins to question reality as he adapts a sprawling fantasy novel into a video game and soon faces a mind-mangling challenge. Welcome back.

Rumors about the film have been circulating for some time, including that it’s the previously reported “Choose Your Own Adventure” style episode. Netflix has played around with interactive storytelling in animated kids shows, such as the streamer’s Puss in Boots where the viewer can choose whether the feline fights a god or a tree, for example. Black Mirror will be the first time Netflix has attempted their choose-your-own-adventure model on a live-action program. Billed as a “Black Mirror Event,” Bandersnatch is not part of the upcoming fifth season of the series.

Dunkirk’s Fionn Whitehead stars in the movie alongside Will Poulter (The Revenant, Detroit) and Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing). David Slade returns to direct the film, having helmed the season 4 episode “Metalhead” (which is briefly referenced in the trailer below). Slade’s other credits include Hard Candy and 30 Days Of Night and TV shows like Breaking Bad and Hannibal.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 Recap

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 Recap

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 Recap

Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 2 followed Midge one year after her marriage ended and her stand-up career began. To celebrate the conclusion of the second season, we recap the journeys of Midge Maisel and the people in her life.

Midge Maisel

In season 2, Midge continued to perform throughout clubs in New York and slowly made her way closer to Midtown. Even during a summer-long family vacation in the Catskills, she managed to squeeze in some gigs. Midge faced the discrimination and double standards that come with being a woman in stand-up. However, a big break performing on TV during a telethon got her a spot on an international tour. Midge would be gone for six months, which she agreed to without thought about her family or her engagement to Benjamin.

Susie Meyerson

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 Recap

Susie spent all her energy managing Midge. Even when Midge went to the Catskills, she joined her there while incognito as a plumber. Susie booked Midge for a short tour, which ended up straining their relationship. However, when Sophie Lennon screwed Midge over at the telethon, Susie fiercely defended Midge. Sophie was actually impressed with Susie and asked her to be her manager. Susie agreed, but didn’t tell Midge.

Abe and Rose Weissman

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 Recap

The season began with Rose moving to Paris while Abe and Midge hadn’t noticed. Rose quickly developed a life in Paris, and with Abe there, they reconnected. Their responsibilities ultimately called them back, but Abe made an effort to keep their Paris spirit alive to please Rose.

Abe thought things would be good back at Columbia and Bell Labs. Unfortunately, finding out about Midge’s stand-up and Noah’s CIA careers made him unpleasant and led to his boss asking him to take a sabbatical. What’s more, Bell Labs canceled his project after Midge talked about it during her act in D.C. This pushed Abe back to his activist ways of his youth, and he met with a lawyer.

Joel Maisel

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 Recap

Joel had to find a job and get out of his parents’ place. When he found out Maisel an Roth was struggling, he successfully turned the company around. Moishe gave him a check and asked him to leave the company so he wouldn’t get stuck. Joel decided that he wanted to open a club. When Midge realized her stand-up career would make her a lonely person, she sought comfort with Joel, not Benjamin.

If you’ve missed a recap or want to revisit the entire season, check out our full list of recaps below!

10 Best Richard Linklater Movies

10 best Richard Linklater movies

10 Best Richard Linklater Movies

Known best for his incredibly engrossing, dialogue-filled dramatic comedies, Richard Linklater is one director who knows how to make conversations as captivating as a car chase. He’s got a love of rock music, a love of humanity, and a love of suburban culture. In addition to this, his movies often focus on the passage of time and the ways in which it impacts his characters. Whether he’s taking a look at the way time changes a couple, the way time impacts our childhoods, or the way time impacts old friends, Linklater is the master of humorous humanism. There’s always a relatability to all of his films — whether we’re identifying with the aging couple in search of purpose, the college-aged kids with their whole lives ahead of them, or the adult who lost track of their dreams, Linklater knows how to capture us and enthrall us. He’s one of the strongest filmmakers working today, and he’s got the filmography to show for it.

The Before Trilogy

10 best Richard Linklater movies

There’s no way one could choose one entry in the Before Trilogy over another, so it makes sense to put them all at the top. Each movie is mostly dialogue, taking place over the course of a day or two, but they’re filled with so much more than that. Before Sunrise sees Jesse, an American with big dreams, and Celine, a French student with her whole life ahead of her, meeting by chance on a train traveling through Europe. Before Sunset follows up with the two of them almost a decade later and Before Midnight almost a decade after that. Together, they contain some of the finest dialogue (and some of the most realistic depictions of relationships and how they change over the course of time) in all of film.

Purchase now on Amazon for $60.01.

Dazed and Confused

10 best Richard Linklater movies

Linklater has more than a few cult classics under his belt, but Dazed and Confused might be the definitive one. A love letter to the mid-70s, the film follows high school and junior high students as they endure their last day of school before summer break. This is the one that showed the world what Linklater was really capable of — it’s exciting, smart, and completely hilarious. More than that, it’s honest and full of heart.

Purchase now on Amazon for $4.99.

Boyhood

10 best Richard Linklater movies

Beyond being one of Linklater’s greatest projects, Boyhood also proves to be Linklater’s most ambitious film to date. Filmed over the course of twelve years, shooting a little bit each year, Boyhood tracks the childhood of young Mason from the age of six to the age of eighteen. It’s a time capsule, highlighting each year’s idiosyncrasies — the rise of GameBoys, Pokemon, Soulja Boy, and Harry Potter all play out in real time — and it’s a truthful depiction of youth and innocence. There’s really nothing else like it.

Purchase now on Amazon for $6.99.

Waking Life

10 best Richard Linklater movies

One of Linklater’s stranger projects, Waking Life is considered an adult animation docufiction film — it’s animated very uniquely, crossing real-life actors with a sort of 2.5D animation style. It focuses on all kinds of different topics, ranging from free will to existentialism to the meaning of life, but it’s all framed around the concept of lucid dreaming (also known as the ability to consciously control one’s own dreams). Linklater’s wild for this one, but it’s something that only he could’ve made.

Purchase now on Amazon for $9.99.

Slacker

10 best Richard Linklater movies

His debut project (and a major source of inspiration for all kinds of different independent films throughout the 1990s), Linklater’s film Slacker both satirizes and honors Generation X as it follows a series of loosely-connected characters throughout their day-to-day lives in a small Texas town. It’s a great film in its own right, but it’s also credited for popularizing the term slacker.

Purchase now on Amazon for $6.99.

Everybody Wants Some!!

10 best Richard Linklater movies

A spiritual sequel to Dazed and Confused, trading the last day of high school and junior high in the 1970s for the first days of college in the 1980s, Everybody Wants Some!! is a pleasant and joyous look at the lives of a group of baseball players at a Texas university. It’s got everything that makes Dazed and Confused great, but it’s operating on a much smaller scale over a longer period of time. Linklater’s so good at this kind of movie.

Purchase now on Amazon for $9.99.

School of Rock

10 best Richard Linklater movies

One of his most popular films to date, School of Rock stars Jack Black as a wannabe rocker-turned-wannabe substitute teacher. He’s a poser in more ways than one, exploiting anyone and everyone for a chance to win a local Battle of the Bands. Jack Black is obviously solid in this film, but the cast of kids is surprisingly just as funny.

Purchase now on Amazon for $13.99.

Bernie

10 best Richard Linklater movies

Another collaboration with Jack Black, Bernie is a Linklater film that’s based on a true story out of Texas (a place that obviously holds a special place in Linklater’s heart). Costarring alongside Matthew McConaughey and Shirley MacLaine, Black plays a mortician who befriends a wealthy widow who quickly becomes controlling. It’s one of the weirdest stories to come out of the state, but its themes are totally Linklater.

Watch now on Amazon Prime.

A Scanner Darkly

10 best Richard Linklater movies

Uniquely animated in the same sort of style as Waking Life, A Scanner Darkly is Linklater’s take on a Philip K. Dick story. Focusing on a dystopian future where surveillance is ever-present and a drug epidemic that’s wreaking havoc across the nation, Linklater manages to make something that feels incredibly realistic and relevant despite utilizing animation.

Purchase now on Amazon for $14.99.

Tape

10 best Richard Linklater movies

Linklater is so, so good at writing dialogue. Tape is one of many examples of this: it follows three old friends, pent up in a motel room, determined to dissect the drama and trauma from their high school years. It’s hard to watch at times, highlighting all kinds of heavy themes, but Linklater still manages to keep the heart of it all front and center.

Purchase now on Amazon for $9.99.

Go behind-the-scenes of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in new video

The Walt Disney Company has released a new behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, an all-new set of attractions coming to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2019. The video offers a first look at two of the new attractions, “Rise of the Resistance” and “Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run,” check them out in the players below!

RELATED: Black Spire Outpost Revealed For Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Both east and west coast versions of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will allow guests to visit a remote trading port on the edge of wild space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life – and where guests will find themselves in the middle of the action. The lands will feature two major attractions that put guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Each attraction – and even the land itself – will offer guests the chance to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe like never before.

“Rise of the Resistance” will make guests feel like they’re on a Star Destroyer inside a hangar bay while “Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run” will give guests the opportunity to fly the Millennium Falcon, piloting the ship, shooting blasters or preparing for hyperspace – all while completing a critical mission. But how you perform on the mission holds even bigger stakes: perform with skill and you may earn extra galactic credits, while bringing the ship back banged up could put you on the list of a bounty hunter. End up on Harkos’s list and you may face a problem if you show up at the local cantina!

Guests will also encounter many familiar faces inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, including BB-8, Chewbacca, members of the First Order and – among many others – Rex, the troublesome pilot you may remember from Star Tours, who takes on a new role in this land as the DJ at the cantina. At the cantina guests will be able to try unique concoctions like blue milk. Nearby, they’ll also be able to acquire trinkets and treasures from across the galaxy. You won’t be buying ordinary Star Wars merchandise or T-shirts at the gift shops, but rather special figures and vehicles (like an AT-AT) built by Batuu’s female Toydarians. The toys are inspired by designs from films like The Force Awakens, Rogue One and The Last Jedi.

A Star Wars-inspired resort will also debut as part of the new Disney 360 vacation concept. This new vacation experience will be a living adventure that allows guests to immerse themselves in an entirely new form of Disney storytelling. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open in summer 2019 at Disneyland Resort and in late fall 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort.
