HBO has released a new Insecure season 2 teaser with star Issa Rae
A new teaser trailer has been released by HBO for the upcoming Insecure season 2. The show stars producer, co-writer and actress Issa Rae (The Choir) and will return with its second season on Sunday, July 23. Insecure season 2 will have eight episodes. Created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore, the show follows the friendship of two black women as they deal with their own real-life flaws while attempting to navigate different worlds and cope with an endless series of uncomfortable everyday experiences. Insecure is executive produced by Rae, Prentice Penny, Melina Matsoukas, Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry. Larry Wilmore serves as a consultant. It stars Rae, Yvonne Orji (30 Days Notice, The Conversation), Jay Ellis (Grace and Frankie, Masters of Sex) and Lisa Joyce (Ricki and the Flash, Billy & Billie).
Issa Rae is known for creating the web series Awkward Black Girl, which lead to a very successful YouTube channel. Her shows currently have over two million views. The show Insecure is partially based on the Awkward Black Girl series. In 2015 she released her memoir, “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl,” which was a New York Times bestseller. She co-executive produced the TV series First and The Choir, which she also wrote, as well as Giants. She also executive produced the TV series documentary Inside Web Series. She’s appeared in Bitter Line, the TV movie Rubberhead and the series Instacurity. She also wrote the TV series short The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.
