CBS has given a pilot order for Greg Berlanti’s new drama God Friended Me
CBS has given a pilot order for the Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Arrow) light procedural drama God Friended Me, according to THR. The show is the story of an atheist who’s life is turned upside down when he’s friended by God on Facebook. His experiences change the lives of the people he comes in contact with. The show will reportedly explore faith, existence and science in a humorous way.
God Friended Me will be written by Gotham‘s Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt. Marcos Siega will direct. Lilien and Wynbrandt will executive produce the Warner Bros. project will Berlanti. Sarah Schecter from Berlanti Productions is on board to executive produce as well.
Greg Berlanti is known for producing The CW superhero dramas including The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, which he created, Riverdale, Black Lightning, as well ABC’s as Deception, Lifetime’s You and Blindspot at NBC. He also wrote one episode of Titans, which is currently in preproduction.
