The trade describes The Last Neanderthal as “an epic adventure and a powerful drama, a tale of survival, revenge, and redemption that draws on recent discoveries to depict a prehistorical tale.”
The film will be directed by stunt coordinator and movement coach Terry Notary (Avatar, The Hobbit) from a story he wrote alongside John Brancato (Terminator Salvation, The Game). It will be shot primarily with motion capture technology. Notary worked with Joe and Anthony Russo on Avengers: Infinity War, playing the villainous Cull Obsidian.
AGBO is an independent production company founded by Joe and Anthony Russo designed to bring artist-led global content for film, television and digital platforms. The company closed its first TV pact with Midnight Radio, headed by Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, and already has several projects in the works, including a remake of the 1979 Walter Hill film The Warriors for Netflix as well as a horror series from YouTube Red writer John Griffin titled From.
