Atlanta Renewed for Season 4 at FX
FX kicked off their TCA panel today with the reveal that their hit TV series Atlanta has been given an early renewal for season four. The series was previously renewed for season three last summer, but was delayed given creator Donald Glover‘s busy schedule.
“What more can be said about Atlanta than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald, Paul, Dianne, Stephen and Hiro have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television,” said by Eric Schrier, President, FX Entertainment. “This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners.”

FX confirmed that both seasons three and four of the series will film back-to-back starting next spring, making the gap between the two seasons likely shorter than previous seasons. The first season of the series premiered in September 2016 with season 2 debuting in March 2018.
Atlanta tells the story of two cousins trying to find their way to the top of the local rap scene, all the while dealing with the many real and absurd troubles black folk face in the city. The series was created by Donald Glover who also stars in the lead role as Earnest “Earn” Marks, a Princeton dropout who now manages his cousin’s burgeoning rap career. He’s joined in the series by Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz.
The FX original is a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy award-winning show, with Glover receiving accolades for acting and directing.
