Netflix anthology Ghost Stories taps four leading directors from India

An upcoming Netflix anthology, Ghost Stories, has some pretty enviable talent working behind-the-scenes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming giant has once again tapped four of the top directors from India, including Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee. This is their second project for Netflix, as the four had previously worked on last year’s Lust Stories.

While Lust Stories focused on stories of love and sex, Ghost Stories will be an interconnected quartet of short-form horror, which culminate into a hair-raising end. The film will be produced by RSVP Films, wich was founded by former Walt Disney India MD Ronnie Screwvala, in association with Ashi Dua of Flying Unicorn Entertainment.

There are no plot details, or even a release date, the film will be available to stream globally on Netflix at some point in the future. It’s part of the streamers recent initiative to push more content that’s accessible to different audiences around the globe.

Dua had initially collaborated with these same four directors on Bombay Talkies back in 2013, which premiered at Cannes that year to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema.
