Lorne Michaels’ Quibi murder mystery signs ensemble cast
Lorne Michaels’ upcoming Quibi murder mystery comedy series The Mapleworth Murders has begun building an all-star cast with the additions of Saturday Night Live vets Maya Rudolph (The Good Place), Tina Fey (Modern Love), Fred Armisen (Los Espookys) and Tim Meadows (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series, created by and starring Paula Pell (A.P. Bio) and John Lutz (30 Rock), the series will be send-up of small-town crime shows such as Murder, She Wrote and will follow Abigail Mapleworth (Pell), a mystery writer who solves crimes in her town of New Woodstream, with each episode featuring guest victims and suspects and investigate why the small town is experiencing multiple murders.
In addition to Pell and Lutz, the regular cast will include J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Hayley Magnus (The Dressmaker) and recurring stars will include D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place), Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio), Jack McBrayer (Wreck-It Ralph), Pam Murphy (Adam Ruins Everything), Ben Warheit (Late Night with Seth Meyers), Annie Mumolo (Bridesmaids), Ike Barinholtz (The Oath), Mary Holland (Veep), James Anderson (SNL) and Drew Tarver (The Other Two).
Guest stars for the series will include Fey, Wanda Sykes (Broad City), Chris Parnell (Archer), Andy Samberg (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Nicole Byer (A Black Lady Sketch Show) and Jimmy Carlson, with regulars from 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Good Place on board as well.

Claire Scanlon (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) is directing the series, with Michaels, Meyers, Pell, Lutz, Broadway Video’s Andrew Singer and Mike Shoemaker set to executive produce and Hilary Marx, Jason Carden and Scanlon attached as co-EPs.
