High School Musical Series Season 2 to Stage a Beauty and the Beast musical
As production officially begins for the upcoming second season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Disney+ has announced that the new season will be featuring a Spring musical of Beauty and the Beast where the East High drama students are set to perform reimagined musical numbers from the iconic Disney film. Set to debut later this year, Season 2 will still be covering songs from the High School Musical movies while also continuing to showcase new original songs. The announcement also came with the release of a new video which you can now check out below featuring the main cast as they sang their own rendition of Beauty and the Beast.
“The outpouring of love and support for season one has been incredibly exciting, and I’m thrilled that the Wildcats are putting on ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in season two,” creator Tim Federle said in a statement. “It was one of the first Broadway shows I ever saw, when I was 14, and it’s got all the perfect metaphors for the high school experience: Do people judge me for how I look? What is true love? Will I achieve the future I dream of? And, perhaps most importantly, it’s got dancing forks.”
