The space-traveling team was most recently seen in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, where they were joined by Chris Hemsworth’s Thor during the final moments of the film. Because of this, Guardians of the Galaxy stars including Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillan are set to appear in Thor: Love and Thunder, which is currently set for a May 6, 2022 release. After that, they will go on their next solo adventure, which will again be directed and written by James Gunn.
Plot details about the third installment are still under wraps but it potentially involve the team’s search for the missing Gamora, who abruptly left after Thanos was finally defeated. Gunn also previously confirmed that Bradley Cooper’s Rocket will play a big part in the upcoming film.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 release date is set for May 5, 2023.
