Another one of the characters from James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is set to make a return in the future.

Speaking to ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian in a recent interview, actor Sylvester Stallone — who portrayed King Shark in The Suicide Squad — confirmed that he would be returning to voice the character in some capacity again. The comment came after Stallone was asked whether or not he would ever return to the character and work with Gunn again.
“Yes, for sure. I think James has been very generous … He and I are pretty tight. So if there’s an opportunity … I love him, he’s great.” Stallone said.
Stallone didn’t say much more on what the future holds for the character, but with Gunn and DC Studios co-head Peter Safran working hard at crafting the future of DC Studios, it wouldn’t be shocking to see The Suicide Squad be a part of that. With John Cena’s Peacemaker HBO series also proving to be a hit for the world of DC, as well as many of the characters from his film making it out alive, a sequel wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility either.
Stallone’s comments also come a few days after Gunn himself said that he was planning the future of DC Studios, with the director saying that they’ve spent time this month trying to come up with the next decade of content for DC.
“The opportunity to make DC as great as it can be and as it should be — that is the reason why I’m doing this job because I know that Peter and I can do that,” said Gunn. “We spent the past couple days with a group of some of the best thinkers in the industry, the best writers in the industry starting to map out that eight- to-10-year plan of what it’s going to look like in theater, in TV, in animation, across the board for these characters.”
