More Star Wars Battlefront heroes revealed
When fans took on the Star Wars Battlefront beta last week they got a taste of what it’s like to take to the battlefield as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Each provides different advantages for their respective side and can easily turn the tide of the fight. Now that the beta is in the books, and we’re less than a month away from the game’s release, EA and DICE have revealed three more hero characters that will be playable including: Leia Organa, Han Solo, and Emperor Palpatine.
In the game, Leia will be equipped with a unique trait called Trooper Bane, a hard-hitting, boosted blaster shot that can eliminate an enemy combatant in one hit; the Enhanced Squad Shield, and the Supply Drop ability that drops power ups for teammates nearby. Furthermore, players that spawn near Leia will spawn as Alderaan Honor Guards instead of their regular uniforms.
Han Solo’s special abilities include Rapid Fire, which sees the players blaster firing as much as possible without overheating for a duration of time; Lucky Shot, a “build up and release” power that is effective against vehicles, and the Shoulder Charge power; which mimics the scene from Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope wherein Han charges into a group of Stormtroopers.
Emperor Palpatine’s abilities include the iconic Force Lightning, the speedy Force Dash, in addition to being the team’s support character by providing additional power ups for teammates.
