The history of Old Man Logan
Ever since Hugh Jackman’s final appearance as Wolverine was announced, the rumors persisted that it would be based on the famous “Old Man Logan” comic storyline. Though there are certainly similarities between Logan and the comic story, they are in fact quite different. The comic, however, remains one of the best Wolverine stories and like the upcoming movie, is remarkable for how it builds upon the decades of continuity behind it.

Logan fled into the woods after this and tried to commit suicide. Naturally, it didn't work.
The fractured USA
As a result of all the heroes dying, the villains split up the United States into their own zones and areas with sections for Doctor Doom, Red Skull, Kingpin, and even The Hulk, who went on to become a madman that started a hillbilly family with his cousin, She-Hulk.
50 Years later...
50 years later, Logan has disavowed the “Wolverine” name and moved to Hulkland and works as a farmer. He has a wife, Maureen (whom he met at the old Weapon X facility where some people had hidden), and two children, Scotty and Jade.
The proposition
When Logan can't make the rent, he takes a beating from The Hulk's grandkids, but his old pal Hawkeye, now a blind journeyman, had a proposition. Help him deliver a package on the east caost and he can get $500. So Logan accepts.
San Francisco
The first stop along the way is San Francisco, now partially underground thanks to an attack by the Moloids. In addition, the pair are ambushed by a motorcycle gang that calls themselves The Ghost Riders.
Hammer Falls
In the ruins of Las Vegas lies Hammer Falls, a Mecca of sorts where people pray for the return of the superheroes to Thor's fallen hammer. There they meet Hawkeye's third ex-wife, Tonya (third daughter of Spider-Man), who tells them their daughter Ashley had assumed the mantle of Spider-Girl and tried to take down the Kingpin, only to be captured...
Fisk Lake City
...So they travel to the former state of Utah to rescue Ashley, but given her first opportunity she kills the Kingpin as soon as Hawkeye and Logan rescue her, making her the new Kingpin... and sending her father and Logan back on the run. The Moloids, however, crumble the ground underneath them and ate their pursuers.
In the land of Doom
While crossing through Doom's territory, Logan and Clint run across a little boy named Dwight that has Ant-Man's old helmet and a Venom-bonded dinosaur. They are saved though by the unlikely pair of Emma Frost and Black Bolt.
Pym Falls
As they approach New Babylon, they come across the remains of Hank Pym, now coyly christened “Pym Falls.”
New Babylon
The capital city of the US and home to President Red Skull, Hawkeye finally reveals to Logan what they've been traveling all this way for: to deliver 99 vials of Super Soldier Serum to the resistance. There's a wrinkle though, it was all a sting to catch the two heroes and Hawkeye is killed in the firefight.
The White House
Inside the Red Skull's trophy room, he stares at the beat-up costumes, gadgets, and even mounted heads of the fallen heroes of the world. Logan and Hawkeye's bodies are brought inside and as Logan's body slowly heals itself up, he stands and fights the Red Skull before cutting his head off with Captain America's shield.
The return home
Cornered in the Red Skull's trophy, Logan does some quick thinking and dons the armor of Iron Man. He picks up the stack of money that the undercover agents had offered to Hawkeye and takes off back home. The fuel cells give out 500 miles from the farm though, and Logan is forced to walk the rest of the way.
The family
Logan arrives to find the Hulk clan got bored and, knowing that he was gone, came to his home and killed his family. This breaks something inside Logan, and reignites something in him that he thought he'd lost.

Logan pops out, killing the Hulk, but when he sees Baby Bruce, he gets an idea.
One month later...
A month later, Logan finally buries his family and makes up his mind to bring law and order back to the world.
Riding off...
And he'll do that by starting a new team, with Baby Bruce as its first member...
Battleworld
When the Secret Wars began and the multiverse was destroyed, reality was recreated as Battleworld, different countries from different realities and one of them was The Wasteland where Old Man Logan resides. He was transported here with full memories in tact of what had happened and took a tour of the various realities before landing in the corrected timeline...
A second chance
After the defeat of God Emperor Doom and reformation of the Marvel Universe, Logan finds himself in the present day. Far from his future and its horrors, Logan has a chance to live in the world again, a fresh start.
The list
There's a problem though. Logan obsesses over what happened in his timeline and decides to prevent it from happening again, so he makes a list of all the people he needs to kill to keep the future from going to hell. That list consists of The Black Butcher, Bruce Banner, Mysterio, and Red Skull. After killing Black Butcher, Logan realized that the present day he found himself in wasn't his past, and the proof he saw? His own dead body. Wolverine was dead, so his future couldn't happen anyway.
Staying in the past
Logan continues to live in the present day, having both solo adventures, team-ups with the “All-New Wolverine” X-23, and even joining an X-Men team.
The Hooded Man in the far future
Before all of this Secret Wars business started, we know what Logan got up to many years after he had a change of heart. Logan leads a team of the best heroes in the future called the New Defenders, including himself (as “The Hooded Man”), Hulk Jr., Psionics, Alex Ultron, Natalie X, and Lightwave. It remains to be seen if this future is still canon as the Old Man Logan storyline continues to play out in the present and as a warning from the time-traveling Kang the conqueror has revealed Bruce Banner Jr. has become a new warlord in the future...
