Personal Interest
Sandy and Norman were driving back to Los Angeles, when Sandy revealed that he owed a large amount of money in taxes to the government. Sandy was trying to convince Norman to loan him some of the money, but Norman was unwilling to do so as Sandy would be unable to pay it back in a timely manner. Norman was dropped off back at home by Sandy and wished Sandy good luck in prison. Sandy went to his classroom and found Mindy packing up her possessions and preparing to leave. Mindy was angry at Sandy’s poor handling of his finances. Back at his house, Norman tried to convince himself to give Sandy the money.
String-Free
Norman finally decided to give Sandy the money with no strings attached. He hoped that it would drive Sandy crazy that he would be unable to pay back Norman. Sandy went to the IRS office and tried to convince the tax inspector that he was unable to pay his taxes due to the death of his accountant. The inspector informed Sandy that if he sold the building he teaches from that the debt would be paid off. Sandy received a phone call from Norman and learned that he was being gifted the money by Norman. The pair went to lunch and Sandy refused to take Norman’s money, since he wouldn’t be allowed to pay back Norman. Sandy went back to his classroom and called Lisa. He told her that he would not own his building for much longer and he decided to go to her house.
A Bit of Light Stalking
Sandy apologized to Lisa for the way that he had treated her over the past few weeks. Sandy began to recount the financial problems he had encountered. The next morning, Lisa called Mindy and told her about the state Sandy was in. Mindy came to Lisa’s house and took Sandy home. Sandy went to Norman and apologized for how he treated Norman at lunch the other day. Sandy asked Norman if the offer of paying off the taxes was still available. Norman wrote the check to the IRS and Mindy quickly took it. Sandy and Norman quickly got into an argument over their daughters and Sandy’s acting career. Mindy went to the IRS office and delivered the check to the tax collector. Sandy left Norman’s house in an angry fit and went to go teach his class. One of his students, Margaret delivered a monologue from Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Her performance moved Sandy to tears.
