Far From Home swings past a billion

Spider-Man: Far From Home Swings Past One Billion Dollars Worldwide

While he may be an honorary member of The Avengers, The Wall-Crawler has joined another exclusive organization, the ‘Three Commas Club.’

Spidey’s latest outing, Spider-Man: Far From Home, took Spider-Man out of his beloved New York City, but it also accomplished a franchise first. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel’s second Spidey solo flick has taken in more than $1 billion at the box-office worldwide — the first Spider-Man movie to officially do so. Adjusting for inflation however makes it the fourth Spider-Man movie to cross this threshold as the three Sam Raimi Spider-Man films reach it after adjustments.

While all three MCU films released in 2019, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Far From Home have crossed the billion-dollar threshold, it’s still technically a Sony property — which makes it only the second film from the studio to accomplish this. The first was 2012’s James Bond flick, Skyfall. Spider-Man’s first MCU entry, Spider-Man: Homecoming, tapped out at $880 million worldwide.
