According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures has officially acquired the film rights to best-selling author Tracy Wolff’s new coming-of-age vampire novel titled Crave. The novel had just launched today which you can now pick up a copy by clicking here!

Described as a paranormal fantasy with a feminist perspective, Crave follows a human girl follows a human girl who finds herself in the midst of a conflict between warring factions when she falls for a vampire prince, Jaxon Vega. According to Entangled Publishing’s Liz Pelletier, the new supernatural novel is pitched as “vampires for a new generation.”

The novel’s official synopsis reads: “My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods…or monsters. I still can’t decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there’s Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn’t felt anything for a hundred years. But there’s something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what’s broken in me.

Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I’m wondering if I was brought here intentionally―as the bait.”

The film adaptation of Crave will be oversee by Universal Pictures’ Senior VP production Jeyun Munford and creative executive Christine Sun. The second installment to the novel titled Crush is also expected to launch next year.

Tracy Wolff is a New York Times best-selling author who have already written over sixty novels that range from young adult action adventures, to new adult romance novels. Also going by the pen names of Tessa Adams and Tracy Deebs, her works include The Ethan Frost book series, Phantom Wheel, Flamebound and The Hero Agenda, who she co-written with Tera Lynn Childs.
