IMAX Employees Call Christopher Nolan’s Tenet ‘A Wonderful Movie’
We’re all eagerly awaiting the arrival of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which would have released on July 17 but has since shifted to a September 3 release date in the US (albeit in limited theaters). Yet, according to Deadline, some lucky people have already seen the flick and — surprise, surprise! — give the thriller high marks. Those in question are IMAX employees who were given a chance to preview the film, or, at the very least, large portions of it.
“Several people at Imax were involved with ‘Tenet’ at the post-production phase,” said IMAX Corp. CEO Rich Gelfond during a conference call with Wall Street analysts. “Their reaction was, ‘Oh my God – I forgot how great it was to be in a movie.’ ‘Tenet’ is just a beautifully filmed, beautifully made, wonderful movie… It wasn’t just one person, at one age. It was a number of Imax employees who spontaneously said that to me.”
Early reactions from fans are always tough to trust, but Nolan has yet to let us down. So, sure, let’s stay positive and believe that the famed Dark Knight director has delivered another epic, albeit one we may not see for a while.

The highly-anticipated mystery project will first open in 70 countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Spain and the U.K. on August 26, with some territories including China still yet to receive a release date, while select US cities will see the film open on September 3 ahead of the Labor Day weekend.
Tenet will be an international espionage thriller filmed across seven countries. John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman) stars, with a supporting cast that includes Robert Pattinson (Good Time), Elizabeth Debicki (Widows), Dimple Kapadia (Fugly), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Rises) and Kenneth Branagh (Dunkirk).
The director first made an impact in 2001 with his indie film Memento. His next film, Insomnia, was also a modest hit. but it wasn’t until Batman Begins hit theaters in 2005 that Nolan became a box office force in his own right. The Prestige was Nolan’s last movie to gross under $200 million worldwide. His other films include The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Interstellar, and Dunkirk.
