X-Men: Apocalypse will undergo reshoots in January
As should be expected for an ultra-sized blockbuster, X-Men: Apocalypse is gearing up for some additional photography. Le Journal de Montréal (via CB) brings word that the production will return to Mel’s Studios outside Montreal for a few weeks beginning in January.
It’s unclear which actors will return for the reshoots, but the outlet reports that Hugh Jackman could be in attendance as none other than Wolverine. Jackman’s involvement in X-Men: Apocalypse has been a big question mark since the film’s announcement and there still has been no confirmation from the actor or studio that he’ll have any involvement in the 2016 film. Check back for more details on the reshoots and Hugh Jackman’s involvement as we learn them.
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”
In addition to Fassbender, McAvoy, Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult as Magneto, Professor X, Mystique, and Beast, the film will also see the return of Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Lucas Till as Havok and newcomers Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Lana Condor as Jubilee. Oscar Isaac is starring as the film’s title antagonist.
Said to be the conclusion of a trilogy started with X-Men: First Class and continued with X-Men: Days of Future Past, the Bryan Singer-directed X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.
