CBS is developing a Stripes series based on the 1981 movie

CBS is set to develop a series based on the Bill Murray/Harold Ramis film Stripes, according to Deadline. The single camera comedy based on the 1981 film comes to us from Trevor Moore, Sam Brown and Zach Cregger from Whitest Kids U’Know, Sony Pictures TV and CBS Television Studios. Ivan Reitman, who directed the 1981 film is reportedly attached to both direct and executive produce through his Montecito Picture Company. Moore, Brown and Cregger will executive produce with Julius Goldy Sharpe and Tom Pollock, alongside Amie Karp and Peter Fried. Sony Pictures Television will produce in association with CBS Television Studios.

The Stripes adaptation will center on a rebellious outsider who finds his calling when he joins the U.S. Military. Stripes starred Bill Murray (Groundhog DayLost in Translation, Ghostbusters), Harold Ramis (Groundhog DayAs Good as it Gets, Ghostbusters), Warren Oates (In the Heat of the NightThe Wild BunchBadlands), P.
