The Tonight Show will air a Hamilton episode in Puerto Rico
The Tonight Show will air a special Hamilton episode from Puerto Rico on January 15. The announcement came from during Lin Manuel-Miranda’s interview with host Jimmy Fallon on last night’s episode (via Deadline). You can see the announcement in the post below!
The special Puerto Rico taping of The Tonight Show will be held during a 24-show run of the hit Broadway play, all of which will raise money for relief funds in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Manuel-Miranda will also be a guest during the January 15 taping, which will also feature an exclusive performance of the musical’s new touring cast with Manuel-Miranda reprising his lead role.
The special run of Hamilton will go from January 8-27 at the University of Puerto Rico to raise money for the Flamboyan Arts Fund to benefit the arts, artists and arts institutions in the recovery.

Manuel-Miranda initially left Hamilton in July of 2016 to focus on a multitude of other projects. Since he left his musical sensation, he’s landed a starring role in Mary Poppins Returns, voiced Gizmoduck on the Duck Tales reboot, and is developing an animated feature for Sony, just to name a few of his current creative endeavors.
