Spider-Man: Far From Home definitely made creative use of the effects wizard-turned-bad guy, Mysterio, turning a B-level villain into a formidable adversary. And while New York’s most neurotic hero has a deep well of villains to choose from, Far From Home director Jon Watts told Uproxx he has an idea of who he’d like to use in the next Spidey solo film — if it were up to him.

Oh, I would love Kraven,” Watts said. “It’s just the trick of how do you do Kraven in a movie?

Kraven the Hunter, whose real name is Sergei Kravinoff, was first introduced in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #15 back in 1964. As his moniker suggests, he’s a hunter with a superhuman ability to track his prey. More than 20 years later, his definitive story, Kraven’s Last Hunt, became a landmark moment in Spider-Man’s long and increasingly complicated canon. Although it’s clear that the character is simply sitting at the top of Watts’ wish-list, Kraven is earmarked with a tortured backstory that could fit in alongside the latest round of Spidey’s incredibly nuanced villains.

However, it could be more than just a trick of getting Kraven into a Spidey movie, given that Sony has reportedly tapped The Equalizer scribe Richard Wenk to pen a Kraven solo film, The studio saw massive success with Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Venom last year, and a Morbius: The Living Vampire feature is currently in the works with Jared Leto to star.

Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, plus Zendaya as “MJ,” Jacob Batalon as Ned, with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Jake Gyllenhaal will play Mysterio. New additions include comedian J.B. Smoove, as well as Numan Acar (Aladdin) as Dimitri. MCU veterans Samuel L. Jackson (Captain Marvel) and Cobie Smulders will also appear as Nick Fury and Maria Hill, respectively.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, all returning from first film Spider-Man: Homecoming. It’s out in theaters now.
