The original series ran on air for three season from 1992 to 1995 and was produced by Sesame Workshop (formerly known as Children’s Television Workshop). Ghostwriter was a children’s mystery series that followed the story of a group of friends who solve mysteries with the help of a ghost, who communicates with them by manipulating letters or text to formulate words and sentences.
In the Ghostwriter reboot, when a ghost haunts a neighborhood bookstore and starts releasing fictional characters into the real world, four kids must team up to solve an exciting mystery surrounding the ghost’s unfinished business. Armed with secret messages only they can see, the young heroes chase down the truth — and become friends in the process.
The reboot is written and directed by Luke Matheny. Each episode will center on different literary pieces, featuring classics and new works from popular authors including DJ Machale (Pendragon) and Kwame Alexander (The Crossover).
