Production halted on Disney+ Series Falcon and the Winter Soldier
According to Deadline, the anticipated Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has stopped production amidst coronavirus fears. The Marvel show had begun shooting in Prague on Friday and was set to finish this week, but the studio shut down the production and called everyone home to Atlanta. The government of Prague closed schools and placed other restrictions on event and travel, per the report, over concerns about the virus. No word on whether the production will return to Prague.

This is the latest real-world event to affect The Falcon and Winter Soldier. Plans to film in Puerto Rico in January never came to fruition due to a 6.4 earthquake that hit along the island’s southern coast.
Fans can rest easy as these slight bumps have yet to impact the release date. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is still scheduled to hit Disney+ in August.
Anthony Mackie (Point Blank) and Sebastian Stan (I, Tonya) will be reprising their roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. Joining them are MCU veterans Daniel Bruhl and Emily VanCamp, who are set to return as Helmut Zemo and Sharon Carter, respectively. Neither character has appeared onscreen since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
During the Marvel Studios panel at D23 Expo 2019, it was revealed that Wyatt Russell (Lodge 49, Black Mirror) has joined the series for the role of Marvel Comics character U.S. Agent. Miki Ishikawa (The Terror: Infamy), Desmond Chiam (Now Apocalypse), Carl Lumbly (Doctor Sleep, Supergirl) and Noah Mills (The Enemy Within) have also been cast for the series.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier may only run for six episodes, but it will connect with the larger MCU.
