Last week, a number of TV shows and projects suspended their productions in line with global efforts to prevent the number of COVID-19 (formerly named as Coronavirus) cases from further increasing. Now, Deadline is reporting that four more TV shows have also temporarily shut down their productions including Hulu’s critically-acclaimed drama series The Handmaid’s Tale which has been filming its fourth season; Starz’s upcoming Power spinoff show titled Power Book II: Ghost and Power Book III: Raising Kanan; and BBC dramas Peaky Blinders and Line of Duty, which are both currently on their sixth season.

Starring Emmy and Golden Globe winner Elisabeth Moss, The Handmaid’s Tale comes to Hulu from MGM Television and is created, executive produced and written by Bruce Miller. The show is executive produced by Warren Littlefield, Elisabeth Moss, Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears, and Ilene Chaiken. Margaret Atwood serves as a co-executive producer for season three of the series. MGM serves as the international distributor for the series. The series is adapted from the award-winning, best-selling novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood.

Created by Courtney A. Kemp, Power aired its series finale last February on Starz. Power Book II: Ghost and Power Book II: Raising Kanan are two of the several installments in the Power franchise under Kemp’s overall deal with Lionsgate, Starz’s parent company. Power Book II will be starring Oscar nominee Mary J. Blige and Grammy winner Method Man.

BBC had announced the suspension through a statement (via Deadline) which reads: “In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, the producers Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions of Peaky Blinders S6 have postponed filming, and World Productions on Line of Duty S6 have suspended filming, both in consultation with and supported by the BBC. We will continue to review all productions on a case-by-case basis and will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the Foreign Office, World Health Organization and Public Health England.”

Peaky Blinders is set in the lawless streets of Birmingham as it tracks the evolution of leader Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) from backstreet crime lord to legitimate businessman and member of parliament. This new season finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. When Tommy Shelby MP is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realizes that his response will impact not only the future of his family but that of the entire nation.

Line of Duty is a police procedural drama series that stars Martin Compston and Vicky McClure as D.S. Steve Arnott and D.C. Kate Fleming, respectively. Created by Jed Mercurio, the series follows the story of an authorized firearms officer as he gets transferred to the police anti-corruption unit after the death of a man in a mistaken shooting during a counter-terrorist operation where he gets partnered with a highly-commended officer. Together, they investigate the corruption that is happening within the police force.
