Looney Tunes beats Game of Thrones & Friends for most popular show on HBO Max

When WarnerMedia had first announced they were entering the competitive world of streaming with HBO Max, many people started to debate which shows would become its number one selling point to potential subscribers. The popular shows mentioned were HBO’s award-winning fantasy drama series Game of Thrones and fan-favorite sitcom Friends. However, in a new report by Bloomberg News, it seems like another series has currently taken the interest and attention of subscribers, with Looney Tunes Cartoons surprisingly taking the top for being the most in-demand program on HBO Max.

After a week since its launched in May 27, the new animated series has already surpassed high-profile titles such as Game of Thrones, Friends, Deadwood, Sex and the City, Sopranos and Rick and Morty. Due to gaining popularity, Looney Tunes Cartoons has also unexpectedly been named as the second most popular series in the first four days of its debut, putting the series behind Disney+’s Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian. These statistics were compiled by Parrot Analytics, a research-based firm responsible for determining the popularity of programs based on social media, fan ratings, and piracy.
