ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive clip from drama feature Paris is in Harlem, which will be having its world premiere at Slamdance 2022 this week. Additionally, we can announce that XYZ Films is handling North American sales for the film.
The movie is available to Slamdance pass holders from January 27 to February 6. Tickets are available here. The Slamdance Filmmaker Q&A will occur on Friday, January 28 at 3 p.m. PT.

“The film takes place on the eve of New York City’s controversial ‘No Dancing’ Law getting repealed after 91 years of institutional racism targeting musicians and business owners of color. It follows several characters through separate but intertwined storylines that converge one winter night during a shooting in a historic bar in Harlem,” reads the synopsis.

The movie stars Vandit Bhatt, Leon Addison Brown, Tim Eliot, Ellie Foumbi, Laura Pruden, Lauren Sowa, Souleymane Sy Savane, Steve Vause, and Chris Veteri, and features Marlon Martinez, William ‘Spaceman’ Patterson, Antoine Roney, Kojo Odu Roney, Tomoki Sanders, and Camille Thurman.

Paris is in Harlem is written and directed by Christina Kallas, and is the final installment in Kallas’ New York Trilogy, following 2016′ 42 Seconds of Happiness, and 2018′ The Rainbow Experiment. It is produced by Kallas and Josh Mandel (Thirst Street, White Orchid, Uncertain Terms), with Allison Vanore serving as co-producer. Executive producers include R.J. Beavers, Yan Cui, Jake Jia, and Cleo Li.
