Denis Villeneuve and Joe Wright on possibly directing a James Bond movie
Earlier this week, we ran our interview with Sicario director Denis Villeneuve and one of the things he said to us towards the tail end of our interview generated some attention, that being his interest in someday possibly directing a James Bond movie. As he said, ” I was raised with James Bond. I love James Bond movies. I would love to do a James Bond movie one day.”
As it happens, ComingSoon.net recently spoke to Pan director Joe Wright about a variety of topics and we just happened to ask him if HE might be interested in directing a James Bond movie someday, since he admits to having found a genuine love for doing action. He has a reason not to jump into something like that following SPECTRE, but he’s open to the idea of doing it in the future.
“Oh, I love James Bond. I grew up with Bond,” he said, similar to Villeneuve. “I think doing the James Bond after Sam (Mendes), who’s a friend, would be challenging, because he has done such an incredible job with it. So maybe down the line, I’d do a Bond, but not straight after Sam.”
You can read the rest of our two-part shared interview with CraveOnline sometime early next week before Pan‘s release on October 9.
