Director Garry Marshall and the Mother’s Day Cast
Following a tradition of established holiday-themed hits like Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve, director Garry Marshall creates a trilogy with a new all-star cast in Mother’s Day out this week!
Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, Jason Sudeikis and Britt Robertson star in interwoven, romantic and funny storylines about the different types of roles mother’s play in the lives of their loved ones. Alongside a stellar supporting cast which include Hector Elizondo, Shay Mitchell, Margo Martindale, Sarah Chalke, Timothy Olyphant, Aasif Mandvi, and Loni Love, these stories are a richly diverse celebration for moms.
The film is a tribute to mothers of all kinds. It centers on a group of strong, loving and dynamic women like a young mom (Robertson) getting a chance to meet her own birth mother, an old school mom (Martindale) accepting her daughters’ (Hudson & Chalke) new school families, and a single dad (Sudeikis) accepting his role as Mister Mom with the help of mothers (led by Love) around him.
Marshall orchestrates all these interconnecting stories to bring to the screen a heartfelt look at the challenges of being a mother. ComingSoon.net got the chance to talk about the film with the director and cast members including Kate Hudson, Aasif Mandvi, Jason Sudeikis, Loni Love, Britt Robertson and Hector Elizondo. Together they shared their thoughts on the film’s themes, progressive angle and their thoughts on motherhood.
