To help prepare audiences for writer and director Shane Black’s upcoming action comedy, Warner Bros. Pictures has put together a special The Nice Guys retro trailer. The film, Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, hits the big screen May 20. Check out The Nice Guys retro trailer in the player below!

From Silver Pictures, The Nice Guys takes place in 1970s Los Angeles, when down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Crowe) must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation, they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power.

The Nice Guys also stars young actress Angourie Rice, Matt Bomer, Margaret Qualley, Keith David and (“introducing,” per the Nice Guys retro trailer) Kim Basinger. Shane Black directs the film from an original screenplay he wrote with Anthony Bagarozzi. Joel Silver is producing with Ken Kao, Hal Sadoff, Alex Walton and Michael J. Malone serving as executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes Oscar-winning director of photography Philippe Rousselot, production designer Richard Bridgland, editor Joel Negrón and costume designer Kym Barrett. The score was composed by John Ottman & David Buckley.

The Nice Guys is set to debut in theaters on May 20, 2016. You can click here to check out the last Nice Guys trailer and click here to watch Crowe and Gosling in the Nice Guys “Couples Therapy” webisodes.
