Paramount and Bad Robot team up for Aporia
The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Paramount and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions will be teaming up to bring the sci-fi thriller Aporia to life.
Jared Moshe wrote the script for the project and he is attached to direct the feature. Moshe transitioned from producing to directing, making his directorial debut with his Western film Dead Man’s Burden. He followed up with last year’s The Ballad of Lefty Brown, which starred Bill Pullman and Peter Fonda. Aporia would mark his first directorial project in the sci-fi genre.
Not much is known about the film, typical for Bad Robot; however, according to THR, Aporia is currently being described as a sci-fi drama with time-travel elements. Neda Armian from Bad Robot will be producing the film.
Bad Robot Productions is most known for its production on various sci-fi and action genre projects in both film and TV like Alias, Westworld, and the recent Star Trek film reboot. Bad Robot is currently in the process of preparing for Overlord, a film that takes place during World War II with Nazi zombies. It is slated for release on October 26, 2018. After that, they will be focusing on Star Wars: Episode IX.
