Incredibles 2 director Brad Bird reveals new musical project
Oscar winning-director Brad Bird (Incredibles 2, Ratatouille, The Incredibles) revealed at the BAFTA Tea Party that his next project will be “an original project” which he described as a musical with “about 20 minutes of animation in it.”

“I don’t know anything about musicals so I figured I should do this, because I’m deathly afraid of it and that sounds like a cool thing,” Bird said. “It’s a project I’ve been wanting to make for a long time, it’s got “about 20 minutes of animation in it.”
The filmmaker went on to confirm that composer Michael Giacchino will do the music for the project, the pair have previously collaborated on both Incredibles movies plus Ratatouille, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and Tomorrowland. Bird’s most recent project was 2018’s Incredibles 2 sequel, which earned over $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office. It was also announced that the director will be working on a 1906 adaptation, based on the book by James Dalessandro.
