Quibi developing Turn of the Screw series opposite Netflix’s Haunting of Bly Manor
Deadline is reporting that Quibi is developing the series Turn of the Screw, a modern adaptation of Henry James’ horror novella. The upcoming series will rival Netflix’s Haunting anthology series’ second season, The Haunting of Bly Manor, which, according to creator Mike Flanagan, will adapt The Turn of the Screw as well as dozens of James’ stories.

Quibi’s Turn of the Screw is described as a twisty Gothic soap reimagined for modern times. The series follows a young Mexican-American nanny who is hired to care for the two children at their summer home on an idyllic island in the Pacific Northwest. It seems like the perfect job, but things take a sinister turn when the nanny begins seeing ghosts and her grip on reality begins to blur.
The project comes from Alexandra McNally (Under the Dome), Josh Berman (Drop Dead Diva), and Sony Pictures Television. McNally and Berman’s Osprey Productions are under an overall deal with the studio.
