PlayStation 5 Digital Reveal Event Has Been Postponed
PlayStation has announced its digital reveal event for Sony’s PlayStation 5 has been postponed in light of nationwide protests. The event was initially scheduled for June 4, but the company said in a statement that now does not feel like the right time for celebration and instead wants more “important voices to be heard.” PlayStation also expressed their support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Regarding the event delay, PlayStation’s full statement reads: “We have decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 event scheduled for June 4. While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.”
PlayStation’s statement supporting Black Lives Matter: “We denounce the systemic racism and violence against the Black community. We will continue to work towards a future marked by empathy and inclusion and stand with our Black creators, players, employees, families, and friends. #BlackLivesMatter.”
