Stranger Things Season 5: Writing Begins on Final Season

It has been a month since Stranger Things successfully concluded its nine-episode fourth season, and now we finally got an update regarding the current progress of the sci-fi horror series’ forthcoming fifth season.

The Strangers Things writing team, which is led by creators Matt and Ross Duffer, took to Twitter to confirm that the scriptwriting process for the final episodes of the beloved Netflix series has officially begun.

The fifth season currently has no release date attached to it yet, but given that it’s still in the early stages of pre-production, fans might have to wait a while for the fan-favorite series to make its final return.

Stranger Things is set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. When a young boy vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces, and one strange little girl.

The series currently stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman.

Season 4 also introduced a number of new actors including Jamie Campbell Bower, Joseph Quinn,  Eduardo Franco, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, Nikola Djuricko, Tom Wlaschiha, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen, Grace Van Dien, Robert Englund, and Amybeth McNulty.

Stranger Things is created and executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer, who also serve as showrunners. Executive producers are Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Iain Patterson.

All episodes of Season 4 are now available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
