Phantasm comes back to theaters in HD armed with an amazing new poster
Don Coscarelli’s 1979 fever dream, death-ball classic Phantasm has been remastered in lush 4K (see photos from the 2016 SXSW premiere here) and will hit theaters again on September 24th (the new Phantasm film, Phantasm: Ravager, will blast onto screens on October 7th, the same day as Phantasm: Remastered weaves its way to Blu-ray, DVD and digital platforms). Distributor Well Go USA Entertainment also has the rights to a bulk of the Phantasm sequels and plan to release never-before-seen HD restorations of 1994’s Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead and 1998’s Phantasm IV: Oblivion as well. 1988’s Phantasm II is owned by Universal and will not be part of the deal.

A Blu-ray and DVD Collector’s Edition Set of the Phantasm series will follow later this year, along with individual Blu-rays and DVDs of Phantasm: Remastered and Phantasm: Ravager, all of which will be packed with special bonus features.
In the meantime, as you get set to see Phantasm on the big screen again (or for the first time), drill your bits into the amazing new theatrical poster above, designed and painted by artist Aaron Lea.
What do you think, “Boyyyyyyyyyyyy”?
