A24 has acquired their first spec script with Bodies, Bodies, Bodies from Kristen Roupenian, according to THR. Roupenian was the author of the viral story in New Yorker magazine called “Cat Person.” You can see the cover of that issue above, which came out on December 11, 2017.

The story for Bodies, Bodies, Bodies still remains a secret, though the site reports that the script, “shows heightened sensitivity to character development and social dynamics in a subversive way.”

“Cat Person” was the story of a female college student in a relationship with an older man that doesn’t end up going well. The story has gone viral since it first appeared and A24 reportedly heard about Roupenian’s horror script. They plan to fast track Bodies, Bodies, Bodies into production. A24 is known for films like Lady Bird, which was just up for a number of Academy Awards including Best Director, and Ex Machina, which starred Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider) and Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi).
