Naomi Watts is in talks to join Mel Gibson and Frank Grillo in Boss Level

Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive, King Kong) is in talks to join Mel Gibson (Daddy’s Home 2) and Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) in the upcoming film Boss Level, a Groundhog Day-style action thriller to be written and directed by Joe Carnahan (The Grey, The A-Team), according to Variety. There is no information yet on who Naomi Watts would play in Boss Level.

The film follows a retired special forces vet named Roy (Grillo) forced to relive his death in a never-ending loop. Roy has to figure out who is responsible and stop them in order to stop his endless suffering.

Boss Level will be produced and financed by Randall Emmett and George Furla of Emmett/Furla/Oasis, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian also serving as producers. Carnahan and Grillo’s War Party will executive produce alongside Scott Free’s Jules Daly.

Naomi Watts is known for her work in films like Mulholland Drive, King Kong, Birdman and 21 Grams.
