Turn Up Charlie trailer shows Idris Elba as a DJing nanny
The new trailer for Turn Up Charlie is here. The upcoming Netflix comedy series stars Idris Elba (Star Trek Beyond, Luther) as Charlie, a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor. Eventually, Charlie is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a male nanny, or ‘manny,’ to his famous best friend’s problem-child daughter, Gabby. Turn Up Charlie also stars Frankie Hervey as Gabby, Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly, Looper) as Sara and J.J. Feild (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women) as David. In addition, Angela Griffin, Guz Khan, Jocelyn Jee Esein, Jade Anouka, Cameron King and Dustin Demri-Burns have also been cast as recurring guest stars.

The series is co-created by Elba and Gary Reich who will both serve as executive producers along with Tristram Shapeero, Martin Joyce and Ana Garanito. Reich’s Brown Eyed Boy Productions and Elba’s Green Door Pictures will be co-producing. Both Shapeero and Matt Lipsey will helm the new comedy.
The first season of Turn Up Charlie will spin its way onto Netflix starting March 15.
