Worldwide, Spider-Man has surpassed $1.37 billion, enough to jump to No. 12 all-time just behind Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1.4 billion). Where Spidey ends up is anyone’s guess. He’ll have most of January to himself, with the only major competition being the action pic The 355 (Jan. 7), Scream (Jan. 14), and Morbius (Jan. 28).
Sing 2 came in second with $19.6 million (-12%) to bring its domestic total to $89.68 million, while The King’s Man and American Underdog landed at No. 3 and 4, respectively, with $4.5 million (-24%) and $4.075 million (-31%).
Coming in at No. 5 was Matrix Resurrections with $3.825 million (-64%) in its second week. The sequel will likely top out at around $40 million.
