When Marvel Studios unveiled its first footage of the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight, one thing was for sure, and that’s that the series would be much darker and more visceral than anything before it.

“He’s brutal,” Feige said in a new interview with Empire. “It’s been fun to work with Disney+ and see the boundaries shifting on what we’re able to do. There are moments [in the series] when Moon Knight is wailing on another character, and it is loud and brutal, and the knee-jerk reaction is, ‘We’re gonna pull back on this, right?’ No. We’re not pulling back. There’s a tonal shift. This is a different thing. This is Moon Knight.”
Alongside the interview, Empire also released a new image for Moon Knight, which shows the character in an all-white suit.

Elsewhere in the interview, Feige also touched on the fact that, due to Moon Knight being a bit more of an obscure comic book character, and the fact that they were dealing with a limited series, the team behind the show was able to take more risks than if they were working on a big-budget film.
“He’s an obscure hero, and the things we’re dealing with are very different. But because it’s a limited series, rather than a movie, the pressure isn’t there to make sure the opening weekend is massive,” said Feige. “We’re able to take more risks, to bring that experimental quality on a huge scale.”
Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight will feature the introduction of Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac in the titular role of Marc Spector, which marks the iconic superhero’s live-action debut and is expected to be featured in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
It is being written and developed by head writer Jeremy Slater (The Umbrella Academy). The episodes are directed by Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab and Synchronic duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. In addition to leading the series, Isaac is also serving as an executive producer. The series also stars Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke, Gaspard Ulliel, and May Calamawy.
