In the Allocine report, it’s noted that current plans are to keep the series closer to its setting and to the games’ original Bordeaux-based developer Asobo rather than moving things to a U.S. production team. In a tweet on Friday, French director Mathieu Turi confirmed that he would be working on the adaptation of the series, and thanked both Asobo and Focus Home Entertainment their trust in handing him the project.
It’s official! I’m honored to work on the adaptation as a TV series of @APlagueTale. Thank you to @AsoboStudio and @Focus_entmt for their trust. I can’t wait to bring Amicia and Hugo’s journey to the screen! https://t.co/93Ct3FuCp2 #APlagueTale #Mediawan #MerlinProd

Taking place in 14th century France, A Plague Tale: Innocence follows the story of Amicia de Rune and her brother, Hugo, who has been ill since birth. The pair flee their home from the French Inquisition and must navigate their way to safety while avoiding soldiers as well as rats that are carrying the black plague.
