More than two weeks since it was confirmed that Free Guy director Shawn Levy has signed on to direct Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3, it looks like Ryan Reynolds has unveiled another update about the long-in-development project.
Reynolds took to Twitter to seemingly confirm the return of Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, the tough old blind woman who has been a reliable friend to the anti-hero since the first film.
This makes the veteran actress the first cast member from the 20th Century Fox-produced Deadpool films to be confirmed for the highly-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe-set film.
Thank you, Leslie. See you soon https://t.co/1nQ9oeN4Wb

Deadpool 3 is now being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from a previous draft by Bob’s Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously assured fans that it will remain as an R-rated film just like the first two movies, which would make it the studio’s first movie with the said mature rating.
It will serve as the first movie in the Deadpool film series that will be released following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. A release date for the movie has not yet been announced.

The first two Deadpool films are both box-office successes as they earned a combined worldwide gross of over $1.5 billion. They were both written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, based on the Marvel character created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, with the first one directed by Tim Miller, and Deadpool 2 directed by David Leitch.
