Techland has been steadily improving and adding to Dying Light 2 since its release in February and the 1.3.0 update continues that trend. The patch notes run down a whole list of changes that are headlined by the addition of New Game+ and legendary weapons.
Players have been asking for New Game+, as the title’s RPG elements lends itself to multiple runs. It would also help users grab missable collectibles that are essential for trophies and achievements. New Game+ also adds 30 more inhibitors, which are also related to trophies and achievements since there aren’t enough inhibitors in the campaign to fully upgrade health and stamina to get both of the related trophies or achievements.

Techland is also changing how the game works in New Game+ to keep players on their toes. Some of the harder infected like Volatiles and Banshees will spawn at night and all enemies will scale to the player’s level. The optional parkour objectives also have harder platinum times to race for. There are even gold encounters, but Techland did not detail what those were. While those changes ramp up the difficulty, the game throws players a bone by adding new a legendary weapon tier.
The update also comes with a ton of bug fixes, which is fitting for a game that launched in a fairly glitchy state. But there is at least one settings change that isn’t related to its technical performance, as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will now be able to adjust the game’s field of view. There’s also a new side mission called “Something Big Has Been Here” and it will have new enemy variants.
