After over two years since the project was first announced, Netflix has finally released the first teaser for Bird Box Barcelona, the upcoming Spanish spin-off to 2018’s horror thriller of the same name. The video takes the franchise out of America as it highlights the chaos happening in Europe when unseen entities begin to take over people’s visions and cause victims to unwillingly kill themselves. The film will be available for streaming on July 14.

What to Expect in Bird Box Barcelona?
“After a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, Sebastian must navigate his own survival journey through the desolate streets of Barcelona,” reads the synopsis. “As he forms uneasy alliances with other survivors and they try to escape the city, an unexpected and even more sinister threat grows.”
Bird Box Barcelona is written and directed by Álex Pastor and David Pastor. The film stars Mario Casas, Georgina Campbell, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Diego Calva, Patrick Criado, Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo De Castro, Michelle Jenner and Leonardo Sbaraglia.
The film is produced by Dylan Clark, Chris Morgan, Núria Valls, Adrián Guerra, Josh Malerman and Ryan Lewis. Executive producers are Ainsley Davies and Brian Williams.
The 2018 movie was directed by Susanne Bier from a screenplay written by Eric Heisserer, based on Josh Malerman’s 2014 novel of the same name. It starred Sandra Bullock, Trevante Rhodes, Sarah Paulson, John Malkovich, Rosa Salazar, and more.
