All WWE rumors and news today
Here are all the WWE rumors, news, and leaks that have appeared on our radar today, May 22.
CM Punk Reacts To AEW Collision Meme
As the anticipation grows for the debut of AEW Collision, CM Punk‘s status for the show remains up in the air. He was initially believed to be linked to the start of the show. Still, after the announcement that the show would be debuting on June 17, Warner Bros. Discovery issued a statement saying that he was not affiliated with the program.
Recently, Punk reacted to a meme about his involvement in the show on Instagram. Posted by TigerStylePro, the meme is taken from the current season of Barry and plays off of Barry buying a gun. Instead, Barry is shown buying tickets to AEW Collision and is seemingly unfazed when the person telling him the “tickets” shows him an image of CM Punk from the post-show media scrum after AEW All Out 2022.
CM Punk commented on this post with a salute emoji.
AEW Fight Forever Release Date
After years of waiting, AEW’s first console game, AEW Fight Forever, officially has a release date. The game will be coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on June 29, 2023.
The announcement came on social media and featured a video of Kenny Omega breaking the news.
Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks) Injured
Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, has been focusing on wrestling in Japan and for New Japan Pro-Wrestling since she departed from WWE on May 16, 2022.
During the NJPW Resurgence event in Long Beach, California, on May 21, Mone wrestled Willow Nightingale to determine the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion in the main event. Toward the end of the bout, Mone appeared to suffer an injury and was carried out following the match.
A new report from PWInsider says that the word going around backstage with that Mercedes broke her ankle. Mercedes posted on Twitter following about saying that she promised to heal up and come back stronger.
A Twitter report from Dark Puroresu Flowsion noted that Mercedes signed a new deal with Bushiroad, meaning she will continue to be with NJPW and STARDOM moving forward.
Cameron Grimes Update
Following his debut on WWE Friday Night SmackDown, a new report has surfaced from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (subscription required), noting that Cameron Grimes has a lot of support behind the scenes.
Reportedly, several higher-ups, including Triple H, saw potential in him coming to the main roster. Also, many agents and producers have spoken highly of his work.
