Infinite will go up against an untitled WB event film on August 7 next year, while Coming to America 2, starring Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall, has been pushed from that date to December 18, 2020. Avatar 2 was originally meant to release at that time but has since been pushed back to December 17, 2021, by Disney. Coming to America 2 will be released against Disney’s West Side Story on December 18 next year.
Evans, who joined the project in February, reportedly had to leave the role due to scheduling conflicts on his Apple TV crime drama Defending Jacob, which is currently filming around various Massachusetts areas.
The studio had also previously announced that it’s Paramount Animation feature, newly titled Rumble, would arrive on July 17, 2020, but the project has now been pushed back to July 31, 2020.
Directed by Fuqua and starring Evans, Infinite is an action/thriller that tells the story of a group of men and women who are continuously reincarnated century-after-century to battle an evil madman bent on world destruction. The fate of the planet, it turns out, may reside with a schizophrenic man who will have to come to terms with the fact that his dreams are memories from his countless past lives.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura (the Transformers franchise) will be producing alongside Mark Vahradian and John Zaozirny of Bellevue Productions. John Lee Hancock (The Founder) and Ian Shorr (Splinter) are currently attached as screenwriters.
