Directed by Zombieland and Venom director Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted is a prequel to the game series and will be taking inspiration from both a sequence of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, in which young thief Nathan Drake first meets future partner Victor Sullivan, and the fourth installment in the game franchise, A Thief’s End.
The film adaptation will be led by Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland as Nathan Drake, and Mark Wahlberg (Transformers films). It will also feature Academy Award-nominated actor Antonio Banderas (The Mask of Zorro, Pain and Glory), Grey’s Anatomy actress Sophia Ali, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Tati Gabrielle.
Fleischer, who was the seventh director attached to the project, is directing Uncharted from a script written by the Men in Black: International duo Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins (The Wheel of Time), based on a story put together by the trio and previous director Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), Mark D. Walker, and John Hanley Rosenberg.
