ComingSoon is excited to debut the Waterman trailer for the surfing documentary narrated by Jason Momoa. The film highlights the career of five-time Olympic medalist and Native Hawaiian Duke Paoa Kahanamoku. Featuring interviews with Jack Johnson and surfing legends Kelly Slater, Carissa Moore, Duane DeSoto, and Laird Hamilton, the film will be released exclusively in theaters on April 1 via Purdie Distribution.
“Five-time Olympic medalist and Native Hawaiian Duke Paoa Kahanamoku shattered records and brought surfing to the world while overcoming a lifetime of personal challenges,” says the synopsis. “Waterman explores his journey and legacy as a legendary swimmer, trailblazer, and the undisputed father of modern-day surfing, following the sport’s first-time inclusion in this year’s Games – a fitting tribute to his work promoting the sport around the globe.”

Running 93 minutes, the documentary has been rated PG. Waterman is directed by Isaac Halasima and produced by Dr. Steven Ungerleider, David C. Ulich, Michael Cascio, and Chet Thomas.
