ComingSoon.net is excited to debut two recipes from Street Fighter: The Official Street Food Cookbook. The Street Fighter cookbook is out June 1, 2021, and can be pre-ordered now on Amazon. This worldly collection of recipes is collected in character as Street Fighter‘s Sakura Kasugano takes a trip around the globe to hone her studies. It’s just as diverse as the characters inside Capcom’s beloved fighting game series.
The official description reads:
This cookbook features delectable treats found in food stalls on the streets of Japan, Spanish tapas from a flamenco tavern, snacks on a pier in the Amazon River basin, and much more. With easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions, this cookbook features recipes and characters from every iteration of Capcom’s hit Street Fighter series.
Packed with vibrant photography as well as information about each fighter and the dish they inspired, this book will level up your skills in the kitchen, making it the ultimate culinary companion for everyone from skilled cooks to new challengers.
First up is a drink that is based upon Charlie Nash’s signature attack — Sonic Boom. It’s a gluten-free and vegetarian offering that will take about 20 minutes to prep and a half-hour to cook. This cocktail that uses honey ginger syrup is sure to taste great. In Street Fighter lore, this is a drink that Guile would mix for his friend.

For the Honey Ginger Syrup
- 1/2 cup (135 g) honey
- 1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
- 1/2 cup (118 ml) water
- 2-inch (5-cm) piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
For the assembly:
- Ice
- 3 ounces (90 ml) scotch
- 1 ounce (30 ml) lemon juice
- 1 ounce (30 ml) Honey Ginger Syrup
- 1 ounce (30 ml) Islay scotch (optional)
- Candied ginger, for garnish
To make the Honey Ginger Syrup:
Combine honey, sugar, water and ginger in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Whisk until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from the heat, and strain into an airtight container. Allow to cool.
Once the syrup is cooled, you can make the drinks immediately, but I recommend covering the syrup and allowing the flavors to meld in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours. Syrup can be kept for up to 2 weeks.
To assemble the drink:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, and add scotch, lemon juice and honey ginger syrup. Cover and shake for 10 seconds. Pour the mixture from the shaker (do not include the ice) into a chilled glass with fresh large ice.
Top with the Islay scotch if using, and garnish with candied ginger.
Next up is a fruit sandwich based upon one of Street Fighter‘s most iconic characters, Akuma. Called the Fruit Sando, it takes about an hour to prep five vegetarian sandwiches that include dairy. When not battling in tournaments, Akuma apparently sells these delicious eats.

For the whipped cream
- 2 1/2 (591 ml) heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons (26 g) sugar
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) vanilla extract
For the sandwich
- 1 loaf Japanese Milk Bread (page 23 of the cookbook)
- 6 strawberries, hulled and halved
- 2 kiwi, peeled and quartered
- 2 tangerines, peeled and slices separated
- 8 grapes, halved
To make the whipped cream:
Combine the heavy cream, sugar and vanilla extract in a large cold bowl. Whisk together until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
To assemble the sandwich:
Remove the heels of the loaf, leaving only the fluffy center. Cut the remaining loaf into 10 equal slices.
Spread an even layer of whipped cream on 5 slices of bread. Arrange the fruit on top of the whipped cream, making sure the center fruit will be cut cleanly in half when the sandwich is sliced. Cover the fruit with the remaining whipped cream.
Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, making note of how the fruit is laid out. Tightly wrap each sandwich in plastic wrap, and make a mark on the wrap to indicate how to cut the sandwich so you can cleanly bisect the fruit in the middle. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 8 hours. Carefully cut the sandwiches in half diagonally. Remove the plastic wrap, and gently cut off the crust.
