The story will be set in an idyllic American town thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders sweep through and threaten to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets, all of which come on the heels of a vintage Chucky doll turning up at a suburban yard sale. At the same time, the titular doll must deal with the arrival of enemies and allies from his past who threaten to expose the truth behind the killings and the untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child turned demonic killer.
The series will feature the return of franchise vets Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, reprising their roles as the voice of the titular killer doll, Tiffany and Nica Pierce respectively, as well as franchise newcomers Final Destination alum Devon Sawa, Zackary Arthur (Transparent), Teo Briones (Ratched), Bjorgvin Arnarson (PEN15) and Alyvia Alyn Lind (The Young and the Restless), who are set to portray the young leads.
Chucky is created by franchise creator Don Mancini, who is also serving as the showrunner and director for the pilot episode and executive producer along with franchise producer and doll creator David Kirschner and Nick Antosca via his Eat the Cat production label. The series marks Mancini’s second collaboration with SYFY after working as a producer on the horror anthology series Channel Zero and penning three episodes.

In 1988, Chucky slashed his way into the pop culture zeitgeist with the premiere of Child’s Play directed and co-written by Tom Holland. The international sensation spawned six sequels, all of which Mancini wrote and Kirschner produced. In 2019, Orion Pictures had released a remake of the 1988 film which featured Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky.
